Shawn Lauda of Anew Advisors
Shawn C. Lauda retired from the Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) on January 1, 2020, after over 26 years of service. He served in various assignments throughout his police career, most of which were in specialty units.
Some of his experience includes tactical operations while assigned to the Street Crimes Unit, undercover operations and gang infiltration as a deputized agent for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms & Explosives (ATF), and the apprehension of suspects wanted for violent felonies as a member of the Fugitive Apprehension Unit.
He served the last seven (7) years of his police career representing all 1,600 Milwaukee police officers and detectives as one of their three full-time elected union executives with the Milwaukee Police Association (MPA), holding the positions of Secretary/Treasurer, Vice President, and ultimately President, which he retired as. Within that time, he also served as a regional Vice President for the International Union of Police Associations (IUPA), CEO and President of the Milwaukee Police Association Fallen Heroes, Inc. (501C3), member of the City of Milwaukee Deferred Compensation Board and Executive Finance Committee, and as a member of the City of Milwaukee Wellness & Prevention Labor Management Committee.
Currently, he continues to dedicate his life to serving police officers and looking out for their best interests as the Director of Business Development – Law Enforcement for Anew Advisors, board member for the Milwaukee Police Association Fallen Heroes, Inc., co-founder of what is believed to be the only public safety (police & fire) recovery house in the nation while a member of the Supportive Alternative Living Services (SALS) board, and as a staunch pro-police advocate who remains active in the media and continues to regularly meet with legislators, local elected officials, and police leaders on police-related issues.
